I have studied that Zionism was a political! movement of Jewish peoples developing means to enter into the secular world. There were deviations with Jews promoting religious intension thru Zionist claims, but this is not the original impulse. Growing up even in the 70s my community was progressive, and deliberated on finding acceptance among the nations. I hope this doesn't sound like a bland statement, but it is essential to know, Zionism was not religious. If someone has specific history demonstrating where I may be limited in this broad statement--lay it on me.
